Project Description:
  • The project will replace 1400-1600 Commercial and Industrial customer meters that are currently being read by the 3G cellular network. New AMI (advanced Metering Infrastructure) meters will be installed.
  • The analyst will be to provide a wide range of administrative/analytical functions to support the initial phase of the project that encompasses qualification testing, design, and initial implementation.
Job duties:
The analyst will provide support for the area’s listed below of the project. Note that engineering resources will provide technical expertise and guidance for the analyst.
 
Asset Management – (meters and instrument transformers)
  • tracking of new meters
  • total life cycle and handling of meters
  • purchase order to delivery to acceptance to deploy and installation
  • meter removals and reason codes (collect data)
  • obsolete meter list and procedures associated (field and shop)
  • refurb criteria – for shop
  • financial handling/booking of installations (cap v O&M)
Warranty Management
  • Change management
  • Criteria established & guidelines
  • System to ID warranty expiry – post CET (billing system replacement project)
  • Custom feature add-on to PowerTrack (meter asset system)
  • Requirements docs
  • RMA process understanding/improvement
Forecasting meter delivery
  • Project related deliveries
  • Connect to supply chain/legal to meet contractual obligations
Face place/PO/price – tracking to contractual price – closely related to Meter Shop work
Route optimization by coordinators
  •  Work planning, scheduling, and dispatching plan
  •  Capital/Key project work
Creation of field installation procedures for meter replacements (engineer will provide tech support)
Commissioning plans for new DT49 refresh meters (new AMI meters being installed)
  • Energization
  • Install tests, data-reads, record keeping, etc
Support development of test plans for DT49 refresh meters
Acceptance testing of DT49 meters - regular shipments
  • record keepingļƒ  feeds warranty management
Field troubleshooting & failures – Standard Operating Procedures
Field failure tracking (asset management strategy)
  • Asset health report (document data needs and develop performance reports)
Additional Skills Required
  • Analytical Skills
  • Writing skills (technical writing is preferred)
  • Knowledge of utility operations (preferred)
  • Knowledge of revenue electric meters (preferred)
Required Skills:
  • MS office
  • MS Excel – Advanced user (formulas, graphs/trending, pivot tables)
  • Strong writing skills - able to draft business proposals, standard operating procedures, and reports
  • Analytical skills – able to develop project forecasts, work planning analysis/modeling, and asset performance analysis
Years’ experience required: 5 years
 
Preferred job skills:
  • Experience working within an electric utility
  • Experience working with revenue electric meters/business
  • Technical writing skills
  • Project management / organization skills
