Job Title:  Inventory Specialist
Duration:  6 Months (contract on W2)
Location:  Atalanta, GA (Onsite)


Job Summary: 
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining the inventory within the Office of Information Management (OIM). This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient inventory management. The Inventory Specialist will oversee inventory levels, streamline processes, and ensure timely ordering and shipping of products.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring efficient selection and shipping processes. 
  • Oversee stock levels and order additional products or supplies as needed. 
  • Evaluate current inventory processes and work to improve efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, adjusting inventory to meet changing demands. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and timely manner. 
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, interview new suppliers, and train warehouse employees. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update the system for timely tracking. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory needs and identify potential stock issues. 
  • Monitor inventory levels, addressing stockout or overstock situations. 
  • Manage inventory aging, coordinating the disposal or rotation of obsolete stock. 
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and participate in physical inventory audits. 
  • Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to optimize procurement and transportation. 
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory management. 
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 

Requirements: 
  • 2+ years of experience in an inventory management role 
  • Proficiency in data entry systems and Microsoft Office applications 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or bend for extended periods in a warehouse environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for vendor negotiations and employee training 
  • Attention to detail for identifying defective products and managing budget constraints 
  • Experience with budget management and inventory forecasting 

Preferred Skills: 
  • Problem-solving abilities to enhance overall inventory efficiency 
  • Familiarity with inventory management software systems 
  • Experience in developing and implementing inventory-related SOPs 

Work Environment: 
  • This role requires a combination of office and warehouse work, involving physical activity such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
