Job Title:  Senior IT Project Manager
Duration:  6 Months (contract on W2)
Location:  Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Job Summary: 
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT projects from initiation to delivery, focusing on larger, more complex projects. This role involves defining project objectives, managing resources, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading Application Development projects and possess a strong background in Agile Development, Scrum Master, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead IT projects related to software, server, or network implementations, upgrades, PC deployment, etc. 
• Coordinate with IT staff and stakeholders to define project requirements and assess feasibility. 
• Develop detailed project plans, monitor resource allocation, track progress, and manage change control processes, testing, documentation, and training. 

Strategy & Planning: 

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. 
• Communicate project expectations and timelines clearly to all team members and stakeholders. 
• Set and manage project milestones, timelines, and expectations. 
• Track and analyze project progress, resolving issues as they arise. 
• Conduct project postmortems and recommend improvements for future projects. 

Acquisition & Deployment: 

• Estimate necessary resources, develop budget proposals, and manage budget adjustments. 
• Negotiate with department managers for personnel resources and recruit additional staff or consultants if needed. 

Operational Management: 

• Direct and manage all aspects of project development, from planning to completion. 
• Delegate tasks, resolve team conflicts, and manage project dependencies and critical paths. 
• Proactively identify scope changes, potential crises, and devise contingency plans. 
• Mentor and guide project team members, building strong relationships to ensure project success. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Strong experience in Application Development project management. 
• Experience with Agile Development, Scrum Master, and DevOps is a plus. 
• Proficiency in project management tools, processes, and concepts. 
• Strong problem-solving skills related to IT systems and project challenges. 
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under tight deadlines. 

Education and Experience: 

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 
• Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business, with 5-8 years of experience in project management. 
• 5+ years of specific professional experience in project leadership. 

Certifications: 

• PMP certification preferred.
