Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking AI Data Architect to drive our data-driven initiatives within the public sector. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies, data architecture principles, and risk management tailored for the public sector. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify, assess, and implement AI-powered solutions while ensuring data security, ethical considerations, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • AI Strategy & Roadmap:
    Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer and stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Use Case Identification & Assessment:
    Conduct thorough assessments of potential AI use cases, evaluating feasibility, impact, and associated risks.
  • Solution Review & Architecture:
    Evaluate the technical soundness of AI project proposals, focusing on architecture, security, privacy, data quality, model performance, and scalability. Provide design recommendations to ensure scalable and secure data architectures for AI/ML workloads.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation:
    Assess the potential impact of AI projects, identifying and mitigating risks such as data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and potential misuse of AI.
  • Collaboration:
    Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including agency and Office of Information Technology (OIT) teams. Offer guidance on technical and ethical considerations while operationalizing AI protocols.
  • Technology Evaluation & Selection:
    Stay current with the latest AI technologies and trends, evaluating their suitability for specific use cases and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Documentation:
    Prepare clear and concise technical reports summarizing project review findings, outlining use case trends, and identifying opportunities for future advancements.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Technical expertise in AI and machine learning, including familiarity with tools and models (e.g., Google Vertex, AWS Kendra, Snowflake Cortex, AWS SageMaker, Google AI Studio).
  • Proficiency in cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and big data technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Experience in AI and data architecture and management.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI principles and ethical considerations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Desired Skills and Experience:
  • NIST AI Framework training or certification is a plus.

Preference:
Candidates residing in the state of Colorado are preferred.
