Job Summary:
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of IT-specific projects from initiation through delivery. This seasoned professional will manage larger and more complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to scope. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, IT staff, and third-party vendors/contractors to deliver strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities: General Duties
Manage IT infrastructure and software implementation projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, and software rollouts.
Coordinate with IT staff and stakeholders to define requirements and perform feasibility assessments.
Create detailed project plans and oversee implementation activities including progress tracking, documentation, training, and delivery.
Strategy & Planning
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
Communicate expectations clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Schedule project milestones and report progress regularly.
Conduct project postmortems and compile recommendations for process improvement.
Acquisition & Deployment
Estimate resources and draft budget proposals.
Secure necessary staffing and recommend resource adjustments as needed.
Negotiate internal resource allocation and coordinate with external consultants.
Operational Management
Oversee the full project lifecycle from planning to closure.
Resolve project conflicts, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks.
Produce reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
Motivate and support project team members to achieve project goals.
Foster relationships that are essential for project success.
Required Skills & Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Technical acumen in IT systems, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
At least 5 years of professional IT project management experience, including team or project leadership roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Business (or equivalent experience).
5–8 years of experience managing large-scale or enterprise-level IT projects.
PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
