Job Overview
Our Client is seeking a motivated and qualified Public Health Program Director 1 to support the Tobacco Use Prevention & Control Program.
The position will work closely with program and evaluation staff to implement evidence-based tobacco prevention and control strategies, with a particular focus on youth and young adults.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults.
• Assist and support schools with the implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation initiatives.
• Work with the tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention.
• Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the FHW division.
• Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.
• Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community.
• Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others.
• Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals
• Prepare and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs.
Education and Experience
• 5+ years of public health or education experience.
• Experience working with youth, young adults, schools, or community health programs.
• Knowledge of tobacco prevention and cessation.
• Experience implementing evidence-based health programs.
• Experience developing or delivering health education/training programs.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment.
