Job Title - Engineer Embedded Software 3
Duration: 12 months
Location: Chandler, Arizona (Onsite)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer – Embedded to support the development, integration, and testing of real-time embedded software for advanced computer and weapon system applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C/C++ development on Linux, embedded real-time systems, RTOS environments, and the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support requirements development, architecture development, detailed design, coding, unit testing, integration, and testing of real-time computer embedded software.
- Develop and maintain embedded software using object-oriented software development practices.
- Ensure software development activities comply with established software standards, processes, and quality requirements.
- Debug, troubleshoot, integrate, and test embedded real-time software.
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Participate in software integration and system-level testing activities.
- Contribute to the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements through integration and test.
- Apply strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve software and system issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Professional experience with object-oriented software development using C/C++ in a Linux environment.
- Experience developing, debugging, and testing embedded real-time software.
- Experience working in real-time operating system (RTOS) environments such as:
- VxWorks
- Integrity
- LynxOS
- Yocto Linux
- Or an equivalent RTOS environment
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance, investigated within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with PowerPC, ARM, and/or RISC-V architectures.
- Experience with real-time computer-in-the-loop (CIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration and testing laboratories.
- Experience developing interfaces to support weapon system integration efforts.
- Experience with embedded software integration and system-level testing in defense or aerospace environments.
