Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment (AHUs, Chillers, Cooling Towers, VAVs, Heaters, Boilers, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Coolers, Freezers).
- Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine necessary repair and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns.
- Use hand and power tools to troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair machines and equipment.
- Review and follow blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Install, service, modify, rebuild, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain centralized HVAC building automation systems, including pneumatic systems and direct digital control.
- Document and maintain records for the Maintenance Department, including preventive maintenance activities and service reports.
- Be physically capable of working in high places from ladders, able to lift over 50 lbs, and follow exacting written and verbal instructions.
- Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 4 years of experience in HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Must own Basic HVAC Tools.
- Must possess a Universal EPA License 608 and an Active California Driver's License.
- Ability to work 9/80A Schedule.
- Experience working in one or more of the maintenance trades: machine and equipment repair, machine controls, and/or electrical.
- Familiarity with electrical/electronic components related to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Experience working within a Central Plant.
- Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience.
- Experience in Aerospace/Defense Industry.
- Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills.
- Experience with building maintenance management and tracking systems (work orders, Computer-Aided Facilities Management, Maximo).
- Knowledge of building automation control systems and troubleshooting I/O.
- Good communication skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience working on HVAC equipment in a manufacturing environment that serves production machines.
