  • Mastery of fundamental MS Windows functions
  • Expert in Active Directory organization and manipulation
  • Solid networking and DNS understanding
  • Solid understanding of storage options and solutions (SMB, NFS, Object stores)
  • Solid understanding of network security principles – especially as it pertains to Windows environments
  • MSSQL experience
  • PowerShell expertise
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and working together with team mates to make a better experience for our customers.
  • Cloud experience (Azure/AWS) – must understand principles and have demonstrable exposure to working in a cloud/virtualized environment
 
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Windows Engineer to help support some core servers and services in their Product space. Candidate must have working knowledge of processes for continuous integration, code merging and branch management including revision control SW (examples: Jenkins, Bamboo, GIT, SVN) and
  • Working knowledge of build process and automation and deploy processes and automation (Maven, GO, Ant, GIT).
  • Working knowledge of Software configuration management (Puppet/Chef)
  • Working knowledge of project automation tools (Gradle)Oversee or execute OS system maintenance services (patch and backups)
  • Performance management and monitoring of all levels of the technology stack via various tool sets
  • Updates and maintains appropriate CMDB information.
 
In this straight-forward “Windows System Administrator” role you will be member of their foundation engineering team supporting a wide array of servers, applications, platforms and processes.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Install/upgrade/remove database software.
  • Software patch application.
  • Install/upgrade/remove information on servers.
  • Database infrastructure software/tools management.
  • Create/upgrade/remove database.
  • Patch rollout execution.
  • Execute database level parameter changes.
  • Update/refresh statistics.
  • Database environment support.
  • Request to check privilege profiles from clients.
  • Execute deployments.
  • Blocking lock detection and resolution.
  • Initial troubleshooting and re-starting broken database jobs.
  • Database migration execution.
  • Starting and shutting down databases and/or database services.
  • Database refreshes/database cloning.
  • Database security/account/role/privilege management.
  • Schema management and database monitoring.
 
Education and Qualifications Required:
Degrees required for this job: Bachelor’s degree in Business, CS
Experience required for this job: 6+ years tech exp in specific applications or business exp that includes working closely with IT
